photographer, filmmaker, hair stylist, make-up artist, perfumer, art director & fashion designer. what didn't serge lutens do? (and do extremely well) his images were such a huge influence on me growing up - they were so exotic & beautiful & well, weird & i loved them.  they were everything i was not & everything i aspired to be & do.  what's amazing is how well they have held up & how current & relevant they still are. love.love.love.

emilie flöge was the life-long companion & muse of gustave klimt & one of vienna's most exclusive couturier's between 1904 & 1938. she established her salon, schwestern flöge, in 1904 with her sisters helene (married to ernst klimt) & eldest, pauline. the loose fitting, beltless style of dresses they designed encouraged greater freedom for the body. & yes, i want them ALL! swoon.

saint laurent paris

wwd is reporting that a spokeperson for yves saint laurent has confirmed a name change to the house.
the branding makeover is a look back to 1966 when the company first introduced its ready-to-wear under the name saint laurent rive gauche.  the full yves saint laurent name will continue to be used for institutional purposes and the logo will remain the same but the new name will be saint laurent paris.
the spokesperson said that the changes are "restoring the house to its truth, purity and essence - and taking it into a new era" while "respecting the original principles and ideals," according the wwd.
