true love

oh mah gah. a long tailed macaque monkey adopted this kitten in the forests of bali, indonesia. the monkey was spotted protectively nuzzling & grooming the ginger kitten and making sure no harm came to it. the monkey would become agitated if the photographer or other monkeys got too near and at times tried to cover the kitten with a huge leaf to protect it! no one is sure how the kitten came to be there. the kitten makes no effort to leave and seems to enjoy the attention lavished upon it. they live in the monkey forest park in the ubud region of bali which is inhabited by about 340 monkeys in four groups. it is considered to be a sacred place by locals. these photographs were taken by amateur photographer ann young while on holiday.

r.i.p. corrine day

sadly, photographer corrine day is rumoured to have lost her battle with brain cancer. day is largely credited with launching kate moss's career in the 90s. she documented her life and friends in her book titled "diary" that shows her struggle with cancer. she will be greatly missed in the world of fashion.

dreaming of other places

kolarbyn is called sweden's most primitive hotel & is located a few hours from stockholm. it consists of 12 forest huts located in a glade by the beautiful lake skärsjön. there is no electricity so everything is done by candlelight & firelight. there are also wildlife safari packages available that include a wolf howling tour, moose safari, beaver watching & lynx adventure. wish i was there now! soooooo gorgeous.
