egon schiele (june 12, 1890 - october 31, 1918) one of my favorite artists, born today.
in a letter to his mother (whom he disliked) he wrote:
all beautiful and noble qualites have been united in me....i shall be the fruit which will leave eternal vitality behind even after its decay. how great must be your joy, therefore, to have given birth to me.
