christophe decarnin out at balmain

christophe decarnin is no longer head designer at balmain, the label announced this morning. cathy horyn of the times thinks that decarnin "hit some kind of personal impasse and lost control of the label." decarnin was absent from the fall 2011 show and has been rumoured to be in a mental institution.

what a day to be stuck on set with no internet!!!  i kept getting texts and emails and of course, NOONE on the set had any idea who christophe decarnin was. i was dying!  all i can say is i hope that he is okay and that the rumours are not true.  wwd is now reporting that "the designer was absent under doctor's orders, after having recently been released from the hospital, where he was said to have been treated for depression."  what the hell is going on in paris???
