ppr is no more

ppr is changing its name to kering, effective june 18.  wwd reports that the name change is part of the ppr transition from a retail-focused company to a fashion & accessories specialist in the luxury & sport/lifestyle segments.  "kering" has it's roots in the brittany region of france & connotes house or foyer. there will also be a new logo - an owl - with the tagline "empowering imagination."

confirmed: alexander wang in at balenciaga

it's official. alexander wang will replace nicolas ghesquiére as creative director of balenciaga. PPR & balenciaga announced that wang will design men's & women's ready-to-wear, as well as accessories & image.

ysl & ppr have confirmed that hedi slimane will replace stefano pilati as creative director for the house.
a statement from ysl said that slimane has "total creative responsibility for the brand image and all of its collections." can. not. wait. hedi's back!!
