rebel redux

david bowie photographed by sukita,  gq magazine, june 2012.

david bowie has reinvented himself more successfully - and frequently - than any other rock star, and for 40 years, photographer masayoshi sukita has been charting the changes, from the prints and platforms of ziggy stardust to the chameleon's most recent sitting in new york, in 2009. with his book chronicling their collaborations out this month, sukita opens his portfolio for gq and shares behind-the-lens memories of the thin white duke's golden years.
