harrods is sold
after denying last month that harrods was for sale, mohamed al-fayed has sold it to qatar's royal family for more than $2.2 billion and announced his retirement according to the london times. harrods is the largest and one of the most luxurious stores in the world and the bid from the qatar holding company was accepted because they would "maintain the traditions of harrods".
painted berlin
last week a group of cyclists dumped 13 gallons of paint of the road at berlin's busy rosenthaler platz, creating a series of colorful lines as cars drove through. noone knows why or even if it's vandalism or art. motorists had no way of preventing their car from becoming the "paintbrush". the creators posted signs on nearby posts explaining that the paint wasn't harmful and would simply wash off with water. so pretty!
