giorgio armani hinted at his retirement while in moscow this week. "i'm already organizing staff who will continue my work" he said. "of course i am not eternal, there comes a time when you must hand it over." having said that, the 75 year old then joked with reporters about his appearance, "you see how i am, i don't look bad yet, do i?" as you can see from an earlier picture of mr. armani he, indeed, doesn't look bad at all.
i have become slightly obsessed with these pointy, long fingernails (painted red, of course).....i wouldn't have the patience to have them done at a salon, nor could i grow them on my own...and if i did have them i'm sure they would only last 5 minutes! nevertheless, i love, love, love them! they somehow convey both fierceness and femininity all at once.
my good friend (and amazing designer) mark tennyson-d'eyncourt has just been hired to design bags for balmain. it's such exciting news and i can't wait to see his first collection with them! (and yes i've already asked for a bag and an introduction to my future husband, christophe.)
kate moss spoke to the gaurdian regarding her fourth collection for top shop. "feature sleeves!" she squeals. "floaty things! sexy things! that kimono feeling!" she gestures with black-nailed hands. "the details! the details!"
last year moss had her perfect pair of pyjamas made in hong kong, but her boyfriend stole them ("jamie lived in that pyjama top all summer") so she's included a silk copy in the new range, which also features a selection of luxe lingerie. "and i've test-run all the underwear, too. my boyfriend likes the lot. it's all very sexy, but not nasty-sexy, glamorous-sexy. not vulgar. i love the lounging suit, and i do like a pyjama. i wore a pair out as eveningwear in new york once, and there was a massive snowstorm. we couldn't get a cab, so i had to walk home in them. it was freezing, but they did look good."
the kate moss for topshop plan is to go expensive. the next collection will be small - fewer vests and t-shirts, more £100 dresses and limited edition jackets.
