isabel marant opens in soho

isabel marant opened today in soho in her first ever us store. the space was designed in collaboration with architect nicholas andre, who worked on her three paris boutiques. the store is at 469 broome street, directly next door to her husband jerome dreyfuss's shop.

the private collection of henry darger

the american folk art museum in new york is showing an exhibition of the private art collection of outsider artist, henry darger. he displayed nearly 100 pieces of art in his one room apartment in chicago. hanging from strings, tacked to walls or pasted with glue directly onto various surfaces they surrounded him. i discovered darger many years ago and if you aren't familiar with his work it's rather genius. it's interesting to see the things that inspired him every day. the show runs through september 19th.
