i might be psychic

ed van der elsken

inez & vinoodh

so yesterday i almost did a post on photographer ed van der elsken but decided to wait a few days. the top image was part of that post. today i see the early images from the vogue paris story "vogue-á-porter" for the february issue, photographed by inez & vinoodh & styled by carine, emmanuelle & camilla. now if only i could figure out the lottery numbers. oh la la.

vogue paris

5th time is a charm....the "new face" rumored to be the cover of vogue paris is none other than daria werbowy. photographed by inez & vinoodh in morocco.

o shame! where is thy blush?

love, love, love the colors!

men's fall 2010

jil sander

burberry

missoni

dolce & gabbana

emporio armani

okay, i had a really hard time with this post. looking at the men's collections was so difficult. i found everything to be so um....looking for the right word...i don't know, either overly designed or too costumey (that would be you - dolce and gabbana) in this arena, us ladies definitely have it much better. so far, i haven't loved anything. i think maybe it's just the styling for the show that's throwing me? then i realized the images i chose are so "classic" one can't really tell what season or year they are! sorry guys!!

best of the rest

burberry....the coats were AMAZING

thakoon - looks comfy and easy to wear

proenza schouler - i really like the color combo

rag & bone - i could see myself running around prepping for shoots in this.

zero + maria cornejo - LOVE this dress

i wish that i didn't have this addiction to clothes....i could have travelled the world or probably own a home with all the money i've spent over the years. still....there is NOTHING like the thrill of wearing some beautiful dress or coat or trousers. one day i'll grow up - but not yet!

in a world filled with magic pixie dust

the fearless tilda swinton

i wish i was so comfortable in my skin. she's such an inspiration.
tilda swinton by ryan mcginley for pringle of scotland s/s 2010 campaign.

cheeky monkey

years ago, i attended a lecture by dr. jane goodall. she said that up until recently, the definition of what a human was is that we made and used tools, but how that notion was being tossed out the window... this is proof of that & absolutely amazing - make sure to watch to the end - it's kind of genius.

untitled by maison martin margiela

"untitled" from martin margiela will be the first fragrance from the designer, who is apparently involved in all aspects of the design. a "woody green floral" with notes of incense, bitter orange, jasmine and cedar, the scent will be in a baron & baron co-designed bottle that looks as if it has been dipped in white paint. it will be available at collette paris on january 25 and will be in margiela stores in march.

kate + longchamp

wwd is reporting that kate moss is set to design a line of bags for longchamp, whom she has, until recently, been the face of. the kate moss for longchamp collection should be available in stores in february. if her success at topshop is any indication, i'm sure the bags will be great.

giambattisti valli pre-fall

very pretty. i think i sometimes ignore him but when i'm out shopping for clients i always end up pulling valli. it is always quite beautiful and well made. looks like we are going to be wearing lots of animal prints and furs and feathers soon!

bamboo chair from jun zi

bamboo chair by jun zi. the side view is similar to the chinese character for "noble man"....
in chinese literature & philosophy, bamboo is the symbol for noble man.

lanvin men's

these on the other hand...

le sigh....these gucci boots are pretty amazing...this is the way a shoe should look!
image from: jakandjill

it's growing on me

while i didn't initially love the steven meisel balenciaga s/s 10 campaign....it is growing on me.
i love the pattern on the shoes but i hate the way they look....i hope the cankle shoe look fades soon.

balenciaga pre-fall

not always a balenciaga girl ...but love the pops of color for pre-fall.

givenchy pre-fall

riccardo tisci was inspired by the 1974 film "emmanuelle" for pre-fall. so far, so good!

chloé

raquel zimmermann photographed by mario sorrenti for the s/s campaign. not terribly exciting but i love raquel. i also love that we seem to be moving back to beautiful, timeless classics. these remind me of the revlon charlie ads from the 1970s with lauren hutton and shelly hack.
